OUR HISTORY

Rotaract club Novi Sad was founded in February 1996. The initial board, in that time, was consisted of 7 youngsters ready to cope with Rotary idea. Rotary club Novi Sad has accepted this idea with approval and became our sponsor club. As we were growing and developing as a club, number of members grew. On the 20th of June 1997, our club was accepted in Rotary International family, and we had our charter celebration. In festive salons of Petrovaradian fortress we had the honor to welcome and feast around 200 people from abroad and Yugoslavia and among them members of diplomatic core from several countries.

Since its foundation to this day, the members of this club have organized a lot of projects, but we also joined and organized projects at the national level.

We are very proud of our international project that is organized every year, with great support of our sponsor Rotary Club of Novi Sad. Rotaract Club Novi Sad celebrates 10 years since the first ROTARY SUMMER CAMP. Thanks to this camp through our town and our life it has been more than 100 different members of Rotaract clubs around the world.

The goals of Rotaract club Novi Sad are:

To develop professional and leadership skills;

To emphasize respect for the rights of others, and to promote ethical standards and the dignity of all useful occupations;

To provide opportunities for young people to address the needs and concerns of the community and our world;

To provide opportunities for working in cooperation with sponsoring Rotary clubs;

To motivate young people for eventual membership in Rotary.
